RE-ARTING TROY: Art at the Atrium

ART at the ATRIUM    RETURN to RE-ARTING Site             Art in Downtown Troy                 Troy Tree Sculpture Project    

ARTISTS who work in all media are invited to submit proposals for exhibition at the Atrium which is located between Third & Fourth Street, Fulton and Broadway Streets - inside and out. Art work will be installed in by April 25, 2009 and remain on display until September, 2009.

DEADLINE for proposal submission is March 20, 2009          Download submission form.     

 • Artists should become familiar with the Atrium by studying the images below or visiting the space.  Artwork may be installed on the first and/or second floors, from steel rafters, on inside or outside decks.  Art may be created on site. There are many interesting alcoves, and blank walls. Performance art is encouraged. Proposals will be accepted until March 20, however, artists interested in a particular area in the Atrium, should submit a proposal as soon as possible. For more details download submission form.

• Sculpture must be of sound design, free standing with stable support.

• Artists agree that art work will remain on display for the duration of the exhibition from April 25 - September 25, 2009. The majority of the artwork selected will be installed in mid April, however, this is an on-going project and a small number of artworks will be installed in May and June. Please be specific if your project has specific time needs.

• Agree, that in the interest of public safety and community priority, the hosts has the right to remove damaged sculpture and will notify artist as to course of action 

• Photographs of artwork maybe reproduced for educational and promotional purposes and it is understood artwork may be photographed by students and the general public.

• Artists are solely responsible for the delivery of the artwork to and from the installation site.

• Artists will be required to reclaim their artwork promptly at the end of the exhibition. 

• A walking tour map will be produced of the public art - indoors and outdoors

• All public art will be displayed on the www.re-arting website and links will be provided to and from hosts and artists.
