CALL FOR ART: for the spring of 2009:
a celebration of Art and Walking Tour of Public Art in TROY
 

Coming by April, 2009 at the ATRIUM and throughout downtown Troy. Everyone is welcomed to participate. WE WANT INSIDE and OUTSIDE in every business and in every PARK, NOOK & CRANNY. Collaboration has been the key to our success over the years and FSG is dedicated to helping you to connect to the arts communities of Troy and the greater Capital Region.

Here’s what we propose:

PHASE I: Concept Art throughout TROY - in parks, on the streets, on buildings, in alleyways, everywhere!

PHASE II: Collaboration - All community members are invited to collaborate in art marketing activities!

PHASE III: Celebration April/May - Recycled Art Exhibition, Trashion, Walking Tour of Public Art & More!

ELIGIBILITY:
This competition is open to all artists who live within 75 miles of the Capital Region: Albany, Troy, Schenectady. Students are not eligible to apply.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Up to 5 images of available work: with 2 additional detail views per 3-D work.
- Image Descriptions (not to exceed 1,000 characters): Please describe your work samples by including title, year made, medium, dimensions and price or insurance value.
- Artist's Statement (not to exceed 2,000 characters): Please write a brief description of your artistic intent.
- Resume

SELECTION CRITERIA:
Artwork will be selected on the basis of the following criteria: artistic merit, appropriateness for the public setting and completeness of application.

SELECTION PROCESS:
A panel of three arts professionals will select works from the digital submissions and proposals. Artwork that contain graphic depictions of violence, sexually explicit imagery, and/or nudity are highly discouraged.

NOTIFICATION OF RESULTS:
Artists who apply will be notified of the selection panel's decisions by March 10th. The Re-Arting committee reserves the right not to select any of the applications.
